Subject: [grc] thinking about filing for a CP extension...

Howdy y'all!

We are considering the pro's and con's of filing for an 18-mo extension.
Yes, we've read ch. 73-- every word, several times now, over the past
year!-- but, in y'all's experience/that of others you *directly* know
about, what is the FCC's actual bureaucratic behavior on that point:
that the FCC permits the extension only "upon a showing of good cause"?
Does one, indeed, need to tell the story of all the fundraisers held,
send copies of our lease and power bills, fwd all the e-mails with town
councilmembers, and the volunteer fire chief, and how AT&T (eek!) is
ignoring us-- convince them we *are* trying, really hard, as it were? Is
that what we'll need to do?!?

Or, is the filing for the (up to) 18-month extension a pro forma, normal
thing-- one doesn't have to assert or demonstrate good progress made, or
unforeseen, act-of-god/big business delay-- we just file, and we get it.
True or False?

We want to do it correctly, if we decide to do it-- and we don't have
the time or money to do any work that isn't absolutely, positively
necessary!

Thanks again, everybody, and let's all keep moving forward!
