[grc] IPhone app for audio recording ?

some time ago i impulse-bought one of these:

for ~$20 because of the ``deep'' discount and because they were doomed
to discontinuation due to the 30 pin connector. amazon still has them
for $21, and tascam has a recording app in the store to support the
device, but i've barely tested it. i was just thinking about using it
to try and catch the ``berkeley boom'' before it goes away:
