Community radio colleagues,
I hope you can arrange for the attached 60-second cart to be played by 
your stations. It's about the medical emergency facing Mumia, and the 
importance of calling the Pa. Corrections Secretary to demand proper 
health care that he has consistently been denied. It was voiced by 
former imprisoned activist attorney Lynne Stewart. Recording was made 
and mixed by WBAI's "Out-FM" producer John Riley.

and political prisoner Mumia Abu-Jamal is in great danger. On March 30, 
after months of medical neglect, Mumia went into diabetic shock and was 
hospitalized with life-threatening high blood sugar. Just two days 
later, he was transferred back to the same prison that failed to 
diagnose or treat him. His diet is dangerous and his health is 
deteriorating. Only massive pressure will stop his execution through 
malpractice. Call Pennsylvania Corrections Secretary John Wetzel at

treatment by specialists of his choosing, the proper diabetic diet, and
