My old Zoom H2 is dying (both the external power supply and the line-in no
longer function) and I'm looking to choose a replacement. I will be in New
York in March and need a recorder there, so I think I'll probably go to B&H
to get one. They have 5 pages of audio recorders, some of them out of my
price range. A friend reports having troubles with a Tascam field
recorder, so I'm not thinking kindly on them. I'd like a replaceable card,
I think, instead of a limited internal hard drive. And I want to use it
for interviews and also the line-in function. The Zoom Q3 (old one) I have
has a wonderful mic for interviews or recording at a bit of a distance, but
no line in. The old Zoom H2 had reasonable sound, but I heard an Olympus
once that had much clearer sound, only I don't know if it was just that
model or all the models. I want it to be light, not heavy. Anyone have
experience and advice?
Here's the B&H recorder section online:

I would be willing to go to another store in New York, but B&H is the one I
know.
