The Tascam DR-40 has good features as previously mentioned on this list,
but it also has a GREAT fail-safe dual format record option to perform a
simultaneous backup at a lower decibel rate and different audio format.
This is really a bomber option that means that you will never have
saturated audio if you program your backup copy to be 6 or 12 db lower
than your master. Haven´t seen other recorders with that feature as of
yet. The newer version DR-44WL also comes with some funky wifi
features, still at an affordable price.
BH has the silver version of the DR-40 for $150
