[grc] Low Power FM is coming to Washington DC - TAKOMA RADIO!

Dear GRC pals,

We got our CP!  By next summer, Takoma Radio will be on the air with the call letters WOWD-LP on 94.3. We started off in an MX of six, so this outcome is remarkable. Our 2-5 mile coverage area has 100,000 potential listeners in Washingotn DC, and suburban Maryland.  Our studio will be in the center of Takoma Park, thanks to Charlie Pilzer of Airshow Mastering, who is creating a storefront space for us.  Thanks to lawyer Michael Richards who guided us through the gnarly MX process.  Cartoonist William L Brown (Citizen Bill) updated our logo with our call letters and frequency. His original logo - hand-stamped on a t-shirt -  has been our bread and butter for four years. Check out the new logo at TakomaRadio.org <http://takomaradio.org/>. We will be a community radio station, offering an alternative to corporate and closed door radio which is the norm in DC.  We are training producers (see Sound Map at TakomaRadio.org <http://takomaradio.org/>)  and will soon train deejays.  Our programming will feature music, stories, interviews, history, happenings, and other expressions of local life.
