*Description:*
The National Campus and Community Radio Association/ l’Association
nationale des radios étudiantes et communautaires (NCRA/ANREC) is a
not-for-profit group committed to volunteer-driven, non-profit,
community-oriented radio across Canada.

The NCRA/ANREC assists campus and community radio stations get on-air and
stay on-air, helps amplify under-represented voices, foster and celebrate
compelling local grassroots radio, and connect stations across Canada so
they can share ideas and better serve their communities. We currently
represent more than 85 members, from CHMR-FM in St. John’s, NF to CICK-FM
in Smithers, BC.

We are seeking a full-time Executive Director. Based in Ottawa, the ED will
work with and report to the NCRA/ANREC Board of Directors. This is a
one-year contract with possible renewal, dependent on funding and
performance.

*Key Responsibilities:*

● Managing and finding sustainable funding streams for the association,
including membership dues, grants, the Friends of Community Radio donor
program, and other fundraising;
● Overseeing all regulatory work to the CRTC and making sure NCRA/ANREC
members understand their regulatory responsibilities and assisting them in
that work;
● Advocating for c/c radio to the federal and provincial governments and
other agencies;
● Representing the interests of NCRA/ANREC’s members to the public, media,
and other stakeholders;
● Fostering member retention and recruitment by maintaining regular station
contact, providing assistance as needed, and managing and developing member
services and resources;
● Working with the Treasurer to ensure the sound financial management and
fiscal stewardship of the association, including book-keeping, preparing
annual budgets, providing regular financial reports to the Board of
Directors, and the annual audit;
● Encouraging collaboration within the association by linking members for
the purposes of mentorship, information-sharing, and regional development;
● Representing the association as a non-voting member of the Community
Radio Fund of Canada’s Board of Directors and supporting the fund in
carrying out its work;
● Working in conjunction with the Board of Directors to define the
association’s strategic direction, review and develop goals and objectives,
plan and execute programs and services, and measure the impact of the
association’s activities;
● Managing the association’s communication tools including the website,
social media, newsletters, membership kits, annual report and press
releases;
● Helping to organize the annual conference in June;
● Working with our partners in the two associations that represent
French-licensed community radio stations: l’Alliance des radios
communautaires du Canada (ARC-C) and l’Association des radiodiffuseurs
communautaires du Québec (ARC-Q);
● Keeping abreast of relevant sector developments such as emerging
broadcast technologies, new media, regulatory issues in broadcast and
telecom, and copyright tariffs;
● Undertaking the recruitment, selection, training, supervision and
management of staff and volunteers, and assisting the Board of Directors in
maintaining appropriate human resources;
● Managing all other administrative work needed to keep the national office
running smoothly;

*Qualifications:*
● management experience in a not-for-profit organization and/or a national
association
● a track-record of successful fundraising, including grants and other
activities
● skills in community outreach, public education, communications and/or
member services;
● a working understanding of broadcast regulations is an asset;
● work or volunteer experience at one or more campus or community radio
station in Canada is an asset;
● experience with anti-oppression work is an asset;
● diploma or university degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent
combination of training and experience;
● bilingualism in written and spoken French and English is ideal.

*Salary:* $40,000 - $45,000 per year + health benefits + three weeks paid
vacation
