Greetings Fellow Radio Enthusiasts!

Especially you LPFM-ers!

Plans are coming together for the first regional GRC One-day
Hackathon, also known as the MiniGRC.

To bring you up to speed: several people requested and suggested that
a brief meet-up for the many LPFM Construction Permit holders would be
a good way to help jump start their efforts. We've responded by
pulling together some of the best hearts and minds in Community Radio.
With a gracious offer from the folks of RiverWest Radio, WXRW,
Milwaukee, Wisconsin, we have plans for a Jump Start Workshop aimed at
LPFM construction permit holders.

This is a one-day series of intense workshops designed to get you
information you need to complete your station and get on the air. The
brief outline includes:

- - Radio station legal and regulatory requirements - Community Radio
Goddess, Donna DiBianco
- - Radio station production techniques and tools - Donna DiBianco, Todd
Fisher Wallin
- - LPFM Technology, digital and analog - Todd Fisher Wallin, David Klann
- - Community radio station management - Ursula Ruedenberg, Peyton Wimmer

You'll leave with more tools in your toolbox, some hands-on work with
others who are in the midst of putting up a station, and answers to
questions you have about what to do next. We may not have all the
answers to your questions, but in those few cases where we don't,
we'll be able to help you find the resources you need to move your
stations closer to lighting up the transmitter!

The RiverWest folks have graciously offered to feed us and for those
who need it, to arrange for home stays. They've got studio space as
well as a spacious meeting room in a gallery a few doors down from the
station.

We'd like to simply cover our costs, so we're asking people who are
able, to donate $65; we won't refuse anyone for lack of financial
resources.

Please contact me if you have any questions or if you're ready to sign u
p.

Come enjoy a few beautiful Spring days in Milwaukee!

For the whole crew,

  ~David Klann
