Tomorrow at the Mini GRC, in addition to the appearance of at least one
Goddess and a couple of Wizards, we are also having an Audacity session.
Although we hope everyone ends up more bold and daring, this is about the
workhorse free, open source, non-linear audio editor with that name.
The main point of this email is that we are going to do this as a workshop
so if you are going to come, bring a laptop or other Audacity capable
device. If your set up is not portable, we will have one or two extra
laptops for workshop use, but you might as well get set up to start using
Audacity on your own equipment. We can help make that happen.
In the workshop we expect to get beyond the basic editing to explore some
of the myriad of plugins that are particularly valuable for radio shows
(e.g. the new noise reduction module, automatic volume adjusting, speeding
up interviews without making them sound too unnatural, compression and
automating common tasks with chain processing.)
The Audacity workshop is in the second slot tomorrow morning.
