Indigenous Conference Service launches its 4th Indigenous Health Conference to be held at the Shangri-la Hotel Marina in Cairns Queensland, gateway to the Great Barrier Reef! The overwhelming response of the Call for Papers clearly indicates the interests of organizations and individuals to improve Indigenous Peoples’ wellbeing. The conference embraces the philosophy of Indigenous community control and mainstream service providers through promoting an informative forum of research, health education and training of staff for the betterment of Indigenous health.
Again, this deadly conference has attracted high quality international First Nations’ speakers from Canada and New Zealand as well as we've received abstract submissions both from every states and territories in Australia. Registration numbers are also filling fast; hence, we encourage anyone who wishes to attend the conference to register as soon as possible. More than 50 % of the accepted papers are from community-based organizations, wishing to share successes in programs implemented within their communities.
One of the featured international guest speakers, epidemiologists Dr. John Huakau and Dr. Tanya Allport from New Zealand will be highlighting about how their organization, Te Whanau O Waipareira Trust – an urban Maori health and social service provider in West Auckland, New Zealand has worked within the past thirty years to become a central agent in helping whanau (families) move from crisis to stability to success. Similarly Canadian Research Scientist, Sumeet Sodhi will be presenting lessons learnt from Dignitas International (DI) - a Canadian medical and research non-government organization working with the Malawi Ministry of Health to decentralize HIV/AIDS services in Malawi, to health centres in remote and rural communities.

"Call for Papers for the 2016 International Indigenous Allied Health Conference"
ICS Australia is proud to announce the launch of its 2016 International Indigenous Allied Health Conference to be held at the Pullman Cairns Hotel on the 1st- 3rd December 2016. Inspired by the huge success of the International & National Indigenous Health Conferences held in Cairns Queensland Australia for three consecutive years, ICS has now broaden the scope because of the interests shown from Indigenous Allied Health workers worldwide. ICS strives to provide a variety of sessions that focus on issues relevant to allied health professionals. Guidelines in Submitting Paper:
Papers should not contain offensive language and take into account cultural sensitivities of host country.
Papers may treat the themes in a manner that contributes to further discussion of conference aims.
Conference papers must be presented in the finish format not less than 60 days prior to the event.
First round of papers closing date will be on the 30th October
, 2015. Papers that are not chosen in the first round may be resubmitted in the second round.
Papers should be submitted in Microsoft Word format.
Authors of papers presented at the conference will be formally notified of their acceptance.
Registration fee of $650 will apply to all persons submitting papers payable upon acceptance of papers.
Papers should explore ways in which the themes show up in the philosophy of the conference.
All papers must be presented in a positive and informative light.
