[grc] Radio for People NOTES Sept 2015

The current push at the Commission right now is that the window for translators will be as adjuncts for AM stations only. The current idea on the table is that AM translators will be limited to current AM licensees and one translator per station.

I too would like to see a translator window for the reserved band channels open up.

Any translator window will not happen until 2017 as it is taking a back seat to channel repacking and the incentive auction for TV.

Thanks for sharing this Betty. Is the thinking on a new translator window
that it will be commercial frequencies only or that it might include NCE
frequencies as well? As crazy as it sounds, we really need a NCE
translator, which is why I'm asking.
