Wimberley Valley Radio would love to have our community radio friends write a short message for the occasion of our first public launch event that’s happening in a couple of weeks.

We want to make sure our community begins to understand and appreciate the unique opportunity of having a community radio station, and all the many ways community radio enriches a community. 

Wimberley is ostensibly rural but it isn’t a typical small town. Not insular at all and has a large arts community, including 4 theaters. Comes across as more similar to a college town than most towns of less than 15,000. We are close enough to Austin to listen to their stations. Many may only know commercial radio, others may think the big city offerings are all they need. 

I’d like them to also know of the community of community radio stations and that there’s support from all over, that it is really a big deal that Wimberley is getting a radio station.
