The Grassroots Radio Conference is coming soon, just 10 days, in 
tiny Palenville, NY, hosted by WLPP-LP 102.9.

The last day to pre-register for the conference at the $150 rate 
is September 15.  Registration at the door costs $200.

Local retired professional broadcaster, character, and community 
radio activist Crane Davis celebrates with us the revival of 
true community voices on the air.

Making Every Vote Count Through Community Radio
Big money in politics means voters often hear just one side 
through massive slick campaign commercials and mailers. 
Community Radio can encourage participation in electoral 
politics, help all candidates share their message with voters, 
and get people to the polls.

Cecilia is a former New York State Senator, who won her
Senate seat by just 18 votes in a district carved out for her 
opponent.


WLPP-LP stepped in to host the GRC this year late, because 
otherwise there would not be a conference this year, and in a 
year with the biggest expansion of community radio in history, 
from the 2013 LPFM window, we couldn't bear to let that happen.
