We are full of love and concern for Todd's beautiful wife and children. To us, Todd was also "family" we had on the other side of the big river; we treasured his and his family's visits, which were always packed with help, advice, and camaraderie. Todd was a great engineer but an even greater comrade - something that is always rare and goes a long way. His death starkly reminds me of how very precious we are to each other as colleagues and friends in community radio. Sigh. We will so so so so miss you, Todd. The proposed assignee applied for the translator (which is perfectly legal). The new owner should be given a chance to put the station back on the air. That translator is running directional and is putting about 8 watts along the bearing towards WRWK-LP. The translator is at 103 meters HAAT. If the facility going there was a non-directional LPFM and not a directional translator, it would be authorized 8 watts ERP. That translator is located 16.5 km from WRWK-LP. The minimum distance separation between two LPFM stations on first-adjacent channels is 14 km. If that translator was really a properly spaced first-adjacent channel LPFM station, would we still be complaining about it? If you have established listeners within the 60 dBu contour of the translator, once this application gets accepted for filing, you can file a petition to deny citing the translator interference rules. It looks like the translator is a singleton so it may not be too long. =m On 8/8/2017 3:03 PM, Max wrote: > WONA AM applied for a translator ON MY IMMEDIATE ADJACENT frequency! > > WONA wants 94.1 and I am an LPFM on 93.9 ... > > Here's the "funny" part ... I'm guessing the AM would be non-silent by the time the translator got built. If it is any consolation, the same translator is causing a short spacing with WCFC?LP too (Crusade for Christ Temple Church of God). Longley-Rice indicates that *if there were no other stations besides WRWK-LP and 201399*, that there would be some areas within your protected (hah!) contour where your station would receive interference in excess of FCC interference standards. That might form the basis for a fight. I don't think the image will come through on the list, but the red spots within the blue line have predicted interference: [image: Inline image 1] Paul (pablito) Bame Prometheus Radio Project , Engineering Director 215.727.9620 x505 N0KCL/3 On Tue, Aug 8, 2017 at 3:03 PM, Max via grc wrote: > WONA AM applied for a translator ON MY IMMEDIATE ADJACENT frequency! > > WONA wants 94.1 and I am an LPFM on 93.9 ... > > Here's the "funny" part ... Tens of thousands of dollars worth of equipment was stolen, including a valuable laptop used to live-stream. The burglars even took the front door! *We Act is part of the solution to Sean Hannity, Donald Trump, and right-wing radio* -- pumping progressive messaging to many people across numerous shows. Back when Bernie Sanders couldn't get on national TV, We Act gave him a platform. When there is a progressive event or candidate, We Act is there. It's run by Kymone Freeman and Alex Lawson. Alex is also the executive director of Social Security Works, one of our top allies in shifting the national debate from cutting Social Security to expanding it. *These are great people and they do great work. They've already raised $15,000 toward their goal of $25,000 to get back on the air and come back stronger than ever.* Can you chip in and help? Every dollar raised into the PCCC Strategic Fund on this page will go straight to We Act Radio. Progressive infrastructure is everything. Let's make sure we have their back.
