Canadian community radio is working on getting activated FM chips mandatory
in cell phones.
Good idea for emergencies, too.

Hi Members,
Great news! With the help of our new partner, City of Toronto Councillor
Mary Fragedakis, a newly sparked interest of the FM chip has grabbed the
attention of a number of sources. This week both CBC Radio One and CBC New

has sent the message that free FM radio matters to Toronto residence.

has also highlighted unlocking the FM chip on smartphone devices in an
article published this morning.
We have asked the North American Broadcast Association to represent
the NCRA/ANREC
at today's meeting. They're set to speak on our behalf this afternoon between
*2 PM- 4 **PM.*
