*Pacifica National Board: Do Not Sell or Swap WBAI's 99.5 FM Signal*
WBAI’s frequency in the middle of the dial is the most commercially
valuable
one in the Pacifica family. If sold or swapped, it would never be
recovered,
and it could be swapped again or sold to those who represent the opposite
of every Pacifica value. Too many have sacrificed too much for us to lose
99.5FM which has the capacity to reach an 80 mile radius.

There are alternatives to satisfying WBAI’s current debt and there is an
exciting new business model for sustaining WBAI going forward, which
has everything to do with being able to pay off our immediate debt as
well.
Joining in partnership with Manhattan Neighborhood Network, public
access television in A Public Service Operating Agreement is the chance
of a lifetime to save our venerable institution and promises a dramatic
leap
forward into the digital realm of the 21st century.  Please sign the
petition
referenced below to demand that Pacifica STOP the Swap/Sale of WBAI’s
signal consider other viable alternatives for WBAI to broadcast its message
of peace and justice for decades to come.
