Free C-band FCC receive dish registration extended to October as published

8/3/18 - Stations that had been put off by the $435 fee to register their
satellite receive dishes (FSS) will be interested to know that satellite
provider SES has offered to reimburse stations for the fee. The idea is
that the currently registered number of dishes is so low, the FCC will find
it easy to carve up the C-Band services in favor of G5. This far, the
number of registered dishes is now about 5,300, with some 1,300 registered
through July 26th. It is estimated that there are some 20,000 - 25,000 FSS
dishes out there. For more information, you can call SES at (609) 987-4300.
