For those of us who knew her, Donn's passing is a moment of sadness and
reflection on our media community.

I met Donna around 2004, as the Operations Manager for affiliate KAOS in
Olympia Washington and got to know her better when she helped us at
Pacifica organize a smart and productive technology mini- conference of
operations near Albuquerque, on the heels of an NFCB conference. Donna
became a close friend, always someone to call when I needed guidance or
loving conversation. When we built KHOI in 2012, Ames Iowa, she came to
live here for a long and hot summer, to help make sure we got on the air.
She called the little lake just outside of town "the office" and at the end
of each sweltering and exhausting day, she would declare "it's time to go
to the office!" and I have lovely memories of sitting in the water under
the starry sky, laughing off the work day and talking and just blissing out
over life and building a radio station. Donna came back to Iowa for a month
to help launch the 2014 GRC - would not have been able to do it without
her, and the last grand adventure we had together was helping affiliate
WLPP in Palenville NYput on the GRC a few years later. I could always call
her with a legal, or organizational question.

These are just a few of my memories. Many of you have your own. Let's
gather in a memorial via Zoom, to share our memories and help each other
say good-bye to Donna. I'll set up a meeting for Friday May 8th at 3 PM
central time, 4 PM EST, 2 PM Mountain, and Noon PT. I will post the link
next week. Please be discreet in forwarding it, to avoid security problems.
