[grc] What to do when Mac kills Audacity?

I am Michael White. I produce content, as opposed to broadcasting it.
My show Baroque and Beyond is on about 25 of your stations. I produce
the show with Audacity.
I think Linux is the answer to the problem, however.
Apple has no financial interest in making Audacity or any other
non-Apple software work with their operating system. Ditto with
Microsoft and Windows.
I use Audacity and Asunder to put my show together and I do it on a
Linux computer. So, the short term fix is to have an inexpensive laptop
or older desktop running Linux, which is dedicated to just using
Audacity to produce the content. As I type this, I have a 10 year old
laptop running Linux Mint, running Asunder for ripping CDs, to expand my
library of early music, medieval music, Celtic music and even opera, for
my show and producing audio CDs at my daughter's request. I have
another computer, a 10 year old desktop that I bought at government
auction for about $75, running a version of Ubuntu, and it's ripping CDs
of Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, for the radio show.
I submit the short term urgent contingency plan is 1 or 2 older
inexpensive computers running Linux.
I suggest a long term solution is to make sure that key programs, such
as Audacity and other Linux open source software, remains up to date.
The solution to that is to pool resources to support the developers.
Relying on someone's interest to ensure crucial software remains usable
strikes me as pushing our luck.
