Hi GRC-ers!
I'm forwarding this question from the engineer who works on our studio
functions. At KRFP we're eager to have proper deejay ergonomics,
because I've noticed volunteer deejays who work in studios with
consistent components such as remote starts develop the muscle memory
that can make them great deejays, and make the creative deejay
experience more enjoyable. This is fairly important when it comes to
studio CD players. So we're trying to get our new CD players to work
w/ remote start, (which our old model CD players seem to do with no
problem--they are Numarks). more below from Dave:

Hi all,
I am having problems getting the remote start on our new(ish) CD players
to work. The strange thing is that it will work if the player is not
installed in the rack and/or grounded through the unbalanced audio. The
mixing board (an Audioarts Air 3) has floating ground remote outputs,
and the CD player has a floating ground too. So why would grounding the
CD player make it not work? Attached is a schematic of the remote input
of the Stanton C.402 CD player. The coils are just jumpers with a
ferrite bead.
Any ideas?
