[grc] Another Audacity question

I used to use Leveller specifically because it would drop out anything
below -20 dB level. This was extremely helpful for eliminating things like
tape hiss. Only after doing that would I use noise reduction if necessary -
because it only reduces the noise that is in the clear and not under words.
When Leveller disappeared, I deliberately kept a version of MacOS that
would still run the old Audacity, hoping to use it in emergencies for
Leveller - but even though I have it installed, the old version refuses to
open -apparently even if it isn't running, the newer version blocks it.
There is something called Leveller in the dropdown menu under Distortion,
but I am having a problem using it. It froze up on me. Does anyone have
any recent experience with this function?
