Hi Folks, I am sorry I was unable to attend the meeting last week, but I
was able to review the recording and can answer a lot of questions that
came up. First of all we do have confirmations on several venues. Our plan
is to have the conference occur in multiple venues, giving people an
opportunity to stretch their legs and stroll around the coolest part of
town. No venue will be more than 5 minutes walking distance from one place
to another. People wil be able to check into their hotels and get to the
venues in a matter of minutes.
Each morning WTSQ will provide coffee and a breakfast snack at the newly
renovated Kanawha County Public Library Coffee shop. The vendor there is
Ma Cuppa Coffee. There are multiple locations in Charleston, library,
capitol market, and Elk City district that will honor your status as a GRC
attendee and ring your coffee up on our account. The venues will be
assigned to presenters probably at the last minute once we get an idea of
who is coming and what their primary interests are.
We currently have about 8 presenters confirmed, and this includes many of
you who volunteered during the last GRC meeting. Please reach out to me
directly Damon at WTSQ with more info on your presentations names, titles of
presentation, and any other info you would like to have included in the
website. If you'd like to send a headshot I can include that as well.
SPonsors are still in the works, we are working locally with several
organizations. and I've reached out to some previous GRC sponsors. BUT
PLEASE, share contact info if you have leads on other sponsors who ought to
be present with me as soon as possible so we can nail them down.
As for travel and lodging I will be posting details about this on the
website. to be launched shortly. Our airport is CRW. YEager International.
We have direct flights to Washington, CHarlotte, Chicago, Atlanta, Orlando,
and CHarleston SC. I am meeting with the CVB director this Friday to see
how they can help with rooming and discounts for our participants. There
are several hotels in the downtown area that we will target to keep
everything within walking distance.
I am also including some locations for camping on the website for folks who
want to commune with the streams and forests while they are in WV!
The cost of the GRC will be $195 for early bird registration and this will
be the rate that participants pay as we intend to absorb taxes and fees
from eventbrite. LAter registration fees will increase to $145 with the
same arrangement for taxes and fees being paid by WTSQ.

I will announce, to this group when we go live! I will definitely be in the
next meeting so I look forward to talking with you all in a couple weeks,
but please share as much info as possible so that we can get this GRC in
order.
