Hi David,
I say do not poll the list before moving the emails. As Joseph said, they can unsubscribe after if they wish. You might write a brief note explaining everyone has been moved and here's how to unsubscribe.
Thank you for hosting the list.
Best,
Betty McArdle

Subject: [grc] Moving the List - Status Update
Hi Folks,
Here's an update on the list move. For an unknown reason, list admin access has been removed for Stephanie and me, so we're currently limited in the things we can do (administratively) on the existing list.
As a reminder, we have until July 1, 2024 to make this move.
The Mailman server reports there are currently "397 Non-digested Members" (3 of which are "private" and I can't see their email addresses), and "69 Digested Members" (2 of which are "private").
I am prepared to auto-subscribe all 466 visible email addresses to a new list at Riseup.net. A few folks suggested polling everyone, asking if they want to be subscribed to the new list server. That seems to me like a lot of unnecessary work, so I'm asking here on this list: do you want me to ask each and every current subscriber if they want to be subscribed to the new list?
What do you think?
~David Klann
