[grc] Democracy Now on commercial shortwave station

As far as I am aware, the RFPI transmitter equipment may still be in
storage in Costa Rica and if so, could be available for a resurrected
short wave station.  Shortly after RFPI was silenced by the UN powers
that be, the stations equipment was offered to Pacifica to restart the
station along with a new local donated transmitter site. Pacifica had
no idea how to deal with the offer.  I would be interested in making
it happen again if funding could be found.

At least it's on. I had been hoping for a progressive presence on
shortwave ever since Radio for Peace International went off the air
 sometime around 2002.

The alienated out in the militia lands only get one side of the
story
these days, and it comes with an agenda that feeds corporate,
racist,
anti-environmental & militaristic interests. Some of these people
 aren't on the internet much.

I think the law against SW targeting US audiences is stupid.

The way the rules are written, any commercials carried on SW must
target foreign listeners only.
