The GRC-2015 is soliciting proposals for presentations for the
2015 Grassroots Radio Conference, to be held September 24-27,
2015 at WLPP-LP in Palenville, NY. The Grassroots Radio
Conference is open to anyone with an interest in developing
community radio, volunteer or professional. The presentations
are designed to promote the development of knowledgeable,
skilled station representatives who will support their local
communities through developing relevant radio programs,
community outreach, and engagement.
The Grassroots Radio Conference organizers are seeking
presentations on new ideas and practical solutions to the
challenges facing today’s community radio stations, be they
full-power or LPFM.
Presentations or tutorial topics are encouraged around this
theme, especially those workshops that will provide innovative
solutions for existing and start-up challenges most stations
face.
We are also looking for co-presenters and "salon" leaders. A
"salon" is an informal group discussion about a topic.
At this point, we are leading toward four tracks, with some
crossover:
-- "Tech", including equipment and software.
-- "Management", including fund-raising, governance, outreach.
-- "On-air", including production and making awesome radio.
-- "Networking", including regional and cultural meetings.
Proposals should include a brief abstract and outline of the
presentation, along with a short speaker bio. Proposals and
questions should be sent via email to grc at wlppfm.org .
Submitters will be notified of the final program selection in
early September. The Grassroots Radio Conference Content
Committee will make the final program selection, and schedule
the workshops on the GRC-2015 Web site.
The conference web site is http://grc2015.net.
If you have questions, email to grc at wlppfm.org or call me on the
