[grc] Anyone have systems in place for interns that they'd be willing to share?

Here's another option for getting young people involved in LPFM...
ZUMIX was able to get an AmeriCorps/VISTA - Brittany, who many of you met
at the GRC this summer - and she's been amazing!
LPFM stations can be a great fit for this program, but need to be aware of
a few things:
1) AmeriCorps VISTA funds capacity building, not direct service. LPFM
stations have lots of work to do in developing systems - technical,
organizational, and regarding recruitment & use of volunteers - so
emphasize this in your application.
2) VISTA's mission is to ameliorate poverty, so you should show how your
LPFM station will combat poverty through education, civic engagement, etc.
3) The sponsoring organization pays half of the VISTA's very low stipend,
which comes to about $7,000. The VISTA receives some other benefits such
as food stamps, transportation vouchers, and an educational award.
4) The term of service is one year, but can be extended.
