Hello NCRA Members

I am very excited that a project which developed out of this years
conference in Saint John and the open space is well underway and now to the
point where we can provide information to our members.

Indymedia Convergence is a international non-profit, grassroots group
developing community radio, specifically in Africa. The NCRA has teamed up
and hope its members support a fundraising campaign to help send a delegate
from an African country, as well as a Canadian delegate to Accra, Ghana
from 4th to 15th of August to participate in the IMC Convergence and AMARC
World Congress.

Attached is much more information, including a release from IMC and the
NCRA Official press release.  There is also a special page setup here on

The short is that we are trying to raise funds through an indigo-go campaign

and are asking member stations to share the information provided here with
their listeners, volunteers and staff.  If you could pass on the
information and poster, we can hopefully work towards raising $4000
Canadian.

Below are links to three PSA's (2 60 second, one 30 second) that we would
like stations to add to their rotation for airplay. The campaign will run
until July 30th. 100% of money raised will go to the cause.

In addition, if you or any volunteers, staff or listeners are interested in
participating, there is an opportunity to do so as well (As a delegate).
Please contact myself or Sphynx (sphynx at si.amarc.org) for more
information.  That decision will be made around the 15th of July when we
have a sense of funding levels available. There is a committee setup to
review those who are interested in going who will review applications and
look to make a informed, unanimous unbiased, decision on representation
based on community values, level of support provided and opportunity to
learn.

Africa around community mobilization.
