I always just get the dasecs, without receivers. saves $400. Then I
buy two old stereos from thrift stores, and hook them to the inputs.
Usually cost maybe $25 each. Make sure to plug everything into a UPS,
so that if the power goes down, the receivers will stay tuned to their
frequencies. Sometimes I need to run an external antenna, but you'd have
to do that with an internal receiver, too. Never had a problem with
that set up.
I can't bear the idea of spending an extra $400 for what amounts to an
AM and an FM tuner--- I have literally 40 FM tuners lying around my
house, as i discovered when we did the "Million Radio March" on
Washington DC.
