[grc] Grumpy Futurist, Democracy and the Importance of Diverse Radio

I posted this same think in Canada, and Ken Zakreski replied with something
about streaming stations online. Seems like there's a tendency to
consolidate all kinds of services as "apps." Someone here on Denman told me
today he has a worldwide radio app and listens to stations in Africa. What
kinds of audience size do streams support, I wonder, and what are the
limiting factors? What would be the likelihood of people buying a new
device just for radio now?
