Sisters and Brothers of Low-Power FM:
Newbie here. Our LPFM (KLLG) just put up its tower-antenna. We have almost all the gear we need to test and tune our signal. Couple of questions:
1) During our test phase, can we use voice or must we only use a generated tone?
2) Once we send in the 319 and receive our license, is there a minimum number of hours that we must have locally produced content or can we put our signal on the air 24/7 with mostly music? And then slip in our own programming as we develop it?
We’d love to find a “packet” produced by someone that would have most of the procedures, protocols, and logs listed that a brand new station must deal with….
We’re located in the heart of the redwoods in Mendocino county. We’d love to meet any LPFM maven that comes through….
