Thanks for the conversation…
..I know from my own experience in the London of the 1970s when running a pirate radio station. Then, there was only the three BBC channels, no commercial stations. We broke stories like the big secret of the high number of British soldier desertions from the Northern Ireland conflict, and the like. My phone, (actually my parents, because none of us had a phone back then), and others were tapped, and big raids happened at our broadcasts to stop us.
...Yes, ultimately it just depends how far any individual or group is willing to go for their beliefs and principles…
