[grc] Pacifica Supports Wikileaks and Julian Assange

I mentioned this in the Pacifica affiliates gathering at GRC 2018 and
reported it in this week's Black Agenda Report:

.
I also posted a news report about it to the Audioport, which six Pacifica
affiliate producers have downloaded. I think that KBOO News Director
Theresa Mitchell aired a version I shared with her too. (And bty, meeting
Theresa in Portland was delightful; I just wish we'd had more time to
talk.)

The Pacifica National Board is not unanimous in its support for Wikileaks
and Julian Assange, but a board majority is. In February the membership of
DiEM25 (Democracy in Europe 2025)—an organization founded by Yanis
Varoufakis, Srećko Horvat, and other proponents of real democracy in
Europe—voted 80% to 20% to support Assange and keep him on the
organization's advisory council, but no outlet I could turn up reported
it. I would have if I'd known that they voted on it back in February, but
I'd gotten on their website when it was under discussion and found it so
difficult to navigate that I gave up, and no one sent me the press release
after they voted. Seems to be easier to navigate the DiEM25 site now, but
that vote is 8 months old, old news. Doesn't mean it's not worth
discussing in another format.
