Hi all,
I'm looking for some perspectives on station policies about show ownership
and cross posting to other platforms like youtube or podcast platforms that
allow monetization. I know there are a range of approaches to who owns
radio shows produced by volunteers at community radio stations. At some
stations volunteers own the shows they produce, while at others the
stations there is a joint ownership agreement of sorts under a creative
commons license. Perhaps there are stations out there that own all shows
produced by volunteers.
- What is your station's policy on who owns volunteer-produced shows?
- Are volunteers allowed to monetize their back catalog of shows on
platforms like youtube and podcast distributors? Does the station get a cut?
- Do you allow volunteers to repackage content they have created and
posted as a podcast or youtube video and air it on the your station?
Thanks for your input!
Will
